Some of our dear customers may feel lost when comes to the ROM and RAM when they read the product specifications before purchasing cell phone or tablet. Here are some useful imformation for your reference.

First, RAM (Random Access Memory) and ROM (Read Only Memory) are two types of memories that are integrated in to modulate the processor, to accurately and rapidly access the information which have been stored in.

Second, both the RAM and ROM are meant for storage purpose, they vary in the style of usage, ROM is used to stockpile the code for programs that are run under the processor.
RAM is used to clutch the temporary information that is produced and used by the processor.

ROM - Read Only Memory
In the sense of a smartphone, it's the internal memory where the OS is stored as well as Apps and other datas. The available ROM is smaller than the standard description cause the OS take some of the space. It's can be enlarged by a SD/TF card.

RAM - Random Access Memory
It is used to clutch the temporary information that is produced and used by the processor.
Data stored in RAM requires constant power and does not survive a power cycle of the phone. This is the memory you see when you run any of the Task Managers showing you currently running apps and the available memory. More tasks running resulted in more power consumption

Put CPU aside, RAM has more influential on cell phone speed and efficiency, and the RAM is expensive than ROM, so as the old saying, you get what you pay for.

Hope the above imformation could help you select your ideal one, any furthuer question please feel free to contact or leave your comment here
